Compare eligibility and booking arrangements for Rehabus, Hospital Authority NEATS, wheelchair taxis and private transport. KareLynk reviews non-emergency transport enquiries and requests for non-clinical appointment support. Start with an email for transport, or use the separate escort options below for help at an appointment. An enquiry or request does not confirm a service. KareLynk does not provide ambulance services or clinical monitoring.

Transport only, or support at the appointment too?
Separate the journey from the support needed after arrival to choose suitable arrangements.
Transport only: email KareLynk, or check directly with the relevant transport organisation or operator. Confirm the vehicle, wheelchair equipment, accompanying passengers, assistance and fare before accepting an arrangement.
Non-clinical escort support: if help is needed with registration, waiting, reaching an examination area or visiting the pharmacy, make a separate escort request.
The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation's Dial-a-Ride service is for eligible people with mobility impairments who hold a Hong Kong identity card. Register as a user before booking a point-to-point journey; this is not an immediate taxi booking. Some small-group bookings may share a ride depending on passenger numbers, timing and route. Individuals can apply through the official website, mobile app or service hotline. Check the official information for current eligibility, booking arrangements and fares.
The Hospital Authority's Non-emergency Ambulance Transfer Service (NEATS) is mainly for patients who cannot use other transport, such as public transport, taxis, residential-care vehicles or Rehabus, and meet Hospital Authority criteria. Ask staff at a Specialist Outpatient Clinic, Geriatric Day Hospital or ward about applying. The hospital's clinical staff assess eligibility. KareLynk cannot approve an application.
For a journey at a specific time between individual pick-up and drop-off points, enquire with a wheelchair-taxi operator. Before booking, confirm whether the passenger can board while seated in their wheelchair, the available space and wheelchair securement equipment, whether a transfer to a seat is required, accompanying passenger numbers and the driver's assistance. The operator must confirm available times and the final fare.
Contact individual operators with the proposed date, locations and wheelchair requirements. Before accepting an arrangement, check operating credentials, applicable insurance, vehicle equipment, assistance, the quotation and cancellation terms. An enquiry does not mean a suitable vehicle is available or a booking is confirmed.
Check before booking wheelchair transport
Keep these details ready for the later review with the relevant operator.
Travel date, reporting time, starting point, destination, and pick-up and drop-off locations.
Whether the passenger can transfer to a seat or needs to remain in their wheelchair throughout.
Wheelchair type, dimensions, weight and whether it folds.
Lifts, steps and any pick-up or drop-off restrictions at both ends.
Accompanying passengers and any separate escort support, luggage space or additional equipment needed.
Whether the return time is known, and arrangements for delays, waiting and cancellation.
Costs and the return journey
Ask the operator for a quotation for your actual journey and check the items below. This guide does not give a standard fare or confirm vehicle availability.
Whether the quotation covers one way or a return journey, and whether the return trip needs a separate booking.
How waiting time, overtime, tunnel tolls, parking and other extra charges are calculated.
Whether accompanying passengers, wheelchair equipment or additional assistance affect the price.
Terms for date changes, delays, cancellation and refunds.
Ask KareLynk about non-emergency transport
Email support@karelynk.com with your preferred name, contact method and enquiry type only: transport only, or transport with escort support. Do not send a passenger's name, medical records, diagnosis, identity number, full address or other sensitive information in this first email.
Journeys, vehicles, staffing, quotations and any combined escort arrangement require separate review and confirmation. During the later review, tell the team about any language needs; this English guide does not guarantee an English-speaking driver or escort. The link opens your email app; you choose what to write and send. If it does not open, use the address above.
KareLynk first reviews the non-clinical support needed, then contacts you to check the scope, escort, time and quotation. Submitting a request does not confirm a service or wheelchair transport. Vehicles and travel arrangements require separate checks.
If continuous clinical monitoring or a particular type of transport has been specified, follow the hospital's or healthcare professional's instructions. KareLynk does not provide ambulance services, emergency care or clinical nursing. If there is immediate danger or acute symptoms in Hong Kong, call 999.
